...Since I was prohibited from operating Jack for profit for another four years, I decided to do a bit of prospecting along the railroad line to see what was needing repaired a few days earlier, the rails were too old for jack to run along, my hand cart actually derailed and the cause was a broken rail. I hired several High School boys to help with repairing tracks, I payed them a good dollar an hour when minimum wage was around seventy five cents an hour, regulations weren't as strict about safety regulations and labor hours those days, had it been I doubt I would have been able to restore the line.
